Replanting an Established Surrey Garden

This garden just outside Woking in Surrey was designed and built more than ten years ago. The layout and hard landscaping had stood the test of time, but the herbaceous planting had dwindled considerably over the years.

I helped redefine the palette of plants, identifying what to keep, moving some things around, splitting well-developed perennials, and then planting a lot of new additions to fill the gaps. Phlox paniculata Clouds of Perfume, Salvia Amethyst, Fuchsia Mrs Popple, Astrantia Roma and Anthemis tinctoria EC Buxton now weave through the borders, bringing colour and structure back to the space while working within the garden's existing framework.

Six months after planting, it's doing rather well.
